In collaboration with the Vergouwen Overduin training agency, IJsfontein developed the Ziggo Wave Battle. The goal of this game is to improve the sales performance of Ziggo’s retail partners. In this game, staff members of various shops battle each other online to establish the underlying needs of their customers.

In collaboration with the Vergouwen Overduin training agency, IJsfontein developed the Ziggo Wave Battle. The goal of this game is to improve the sales performance of the Ziggo retail partners. In this game the staff of various shops battle each other online to establish the underlying needs of their customers.

How does it work

In the game, the player has to deal with various customers, each with their own topic of conversation. The player has to establish the customer’s need to match it with the proper Ziggo products. Not only does the game allow you to gain an individual score, but also a score per store. The top 10 of winning store teams earn a Live Show in which an additional training is offered, along with a visit from a Mystery Coach. This visit will assess the cases from the game in practice and the winner will receive a VIP-treatment for a concert of their choice in the Ziggo Dome.

Reusable

The content of the quiz can easily be adapted, offering Ziggo a chance to reuse this training tool again during the course of a year. Each time, all stores start over, giving everyone an equal chance to win.

Implementation

No matter how much fun a game is, people have to start playing it first. In order to ensure that, much attention has been paid to the implementation process. Promotion teams have visited the shops to explain the game in person and to challenge the staff to a battle. In addition, each store has received a poster on which the game is explained and the announcement of the winner is linked to a variety of live events. This created the staff’s awareness for the game on a regular basis and resulted in considerably increased commitment.
